I have created this part of my web site so that I can share some of the wonderful places that I have visited in Portugal, Spain and France. Other people may enjoy holidays on a beach, skiing or visiting far flung places. I have found fascinating places to visit on my motorbike all within a day or two’s ride of where I live in the Algarve.
I am fascinated by our history and in particular where it relates to places and people during the period from the Roman Empire to the end of the 18th century. I do not have a good memory so visiting places of historical interest, taking photographs, reading books and writing a little that I have learnt on this website will I hope help me remember something of what I have seen and read about.
Also it is nice to share what I have seen and learnt with anyone who might be interested without becoming a boor! You don’t have to click on the following articles – but if you do you may read something of interest, there are photographs with each article.
